The ISAC Abx Guide
ISAC in collaboration with Radboud university medical centre (Radboudumc), the Netherlands and the American University of Beirut Medical Centre (AUBMC), Lebanon developed a free open access online antimicrobial treatment guideline for global application (ISAC AbxGuide) intended to provide guidance on antibiotic treatment of common infectious diseases in an easy-to-use modular format that can be adapted to different settings. The main aim is to address the gaps causing inappropriate antibiotic use in low-resource settings.
The content is intended to be as much as possible applicable to all settings taking into consideration evidence-based medicine including clinical studies and international guidelines and where possible using pragmatic priority listing between alternative treatment options. The gathered evidence of directed treatment advice for the major bacterial infectious diseases and resistance phenotypes will be presented in a free-access online interactive ISAC AbxGuide platform.
